Kids Day at Sisters of the Road Café

posted: September 4, 2014

Catherine Boone, Cafe Co-Manager, who has a heart for children, helped to organize another Kid’s Day at Sisters of the Road in downtown Portland in August  – this time, with Back-to-School supplies for all the children.  Mt. Tabor Church and our neighbors from TaborSpace collected 41 fully-supplied backpacks to be given to the children.

“Sisters of the Road exists to build authentic relationships and alleviate the hunger of isolation in an atmosphere of nonviolence and gentle personalism that nurtures the whole individual, while seeking systemic solutions that reach the roots of homelessness and poverty to end them forever.”

– Sisters’ mission statement.
